How to choose a camera light

Size and weight: the light should not unbalance your camera or gimbal. Pocket lights suit action cameras; palm-sized lights suit mirrorless rigs.
Mounting: check for cold shoe, magnetic or MagSafe mounting that fits your camera.
Brightness: compare lumens and whether the light has a boost mode or lens to concentrate output.
Color accuracy: CRI/TLCI 96 or higher keeps skin tones natural.
Battery: built-in or swappable batteries keep you shooting without cables.
