MY JOURNEY
Dave is a photographer, filmmaker, and creative educator from the Bay Area of California. Dave grew up on the east coast but eventually moved to Germany as a young man. It was there he fell in love photographing landscapes. After moving back to the US, his work in nonprofit shaped him as a photographer, filmmaker, storyteller, speaker, and author, bringing human-centric stories and experiences to light. Today he continues to document life, land, and legacy, with a focus on telling stories of the western United States.
His go-to Harlowe kit is the Avant Max as a key light with a Mini often as a rim or accent light as his on-location kit, with the Avant Softbox and the kit barn-doors along with Lightstand 210. In his studio, he prefers the Pro with the Pro Softbox and the 240 Stand for his static video work, using a wall mounted Mini Max as a rim or accent light.
Why Harlowe?
“Harlowe allows me to create without friction. It just works. Plus they are the best looking lights on the market, period."--Dave Herring
